I am so sorry. Two things you can do. The first one I would try is talking to his oncologist's office. The office staff will have contact information for cancer support groups for patients AND families. In the meantime, try here: http://lchelp.org/ I had an uncle who had emphysema, on oxygen 24/7 and continued to smoke. He'd go out to the garage, disconnect his oxygen and light up. He'd cough, choke, spew, gag, wheeze and STILL keep sucking on the cigarette. He died a very painful death because he couldn't breath when his lungs shut down. Best wishes to you.

Call a local hospital and ask about support groups! I'm sure they know of groups that you can join where you can talk to people who can relate to you and perhaps, help you a little.

I had lung cancer in 1994 they took part of my left lung out. I get help from American cancer society. and you can see if there are any support groups in your area. I live in Fl. 6 mos and Co. 6mos and I connect with bothgroups. Also call you health department and social service in your area. Good luck and hang in there and look up. You can always blame someone else but put it where it belongs My husband died in 1990 from lung problems

i'm very sorry to hear of your husband. he sounds as though he is not really exepting his diagnosis. or he has excepted it and he feels he's done.you can't make him stop smoking and badgering will only make it worse. at this time you need help for you. you can try the local hospice. i don't know but, they may have info for you. your hospital most likely offers a spousal support group. try there as well. not only can they help you learn how to cope but, they can explain to you what your husband is going through and how he may be feeling so that you can be better prepared to deal with him. i wish only the best for you. god bless.

So sorry to hear about your husband. My husband was diagnosed March 20th, 2006. He went thru rdiation, chemo, gamma knife procedure and took a drug called tarceva. (It is very expensive but it has had good results) Sadly, my love passed June 6th 2006. He was terminal, and the treatments were not helping they actually worsened his condition. He went back to smoking for awhile. I dont know how far advanced his cancer is but if he is terminal, hell let him smoke the damage is done and cannot be reversed. If you need or want to talk you can email me . Good luck to you and your husband. Stay strong I know how hard it is.
