Short term effects: difficulty breathing, chronic cough, fever, chills etc. Long term: death in many cases even despite treatment. Lung cancer is one of the biggest killers in the US.

Short term: Coughing (most common) Shortness of breath (dyspnea) Fatigue Wheezing Pain in the chest, shoulder, upper back, or arm Coughing up blood (hemoptysis) Repeated pneumonia or bronchitis Loss of appetite (anorexia) and weight loss General pain Hoarseness Swelling of face or neck Pleural effusion Long Term: Compromised Immune system from the chemo nausea and vomiting hair loss difficulty swallowing dry, sore throat fatigue skin changes at the site of the treatment loss of appetite Metastasis of the cancer to other organs (sometimes) Death
