Is there any hospital in the Philippines offering cryosurgery to treat lung cancer

Is there any hospital in the Philippines offering cryosurgery to treat lung cancer?
My dad was diagnosed with NSC lung cancer and heard of this treatment, instead of going to China, it would be so much better if it's offered too here in the Philippines

What signs do you look for when someone is dying of lung cancer and their time is almost up

What signs do you look for when someone is dying of lung cancer and their time is almost up?
I have a friend who is in the final stages of lung cancer. Her nursed say it is now up to God. She is not responding much to any of us. I am staying with her night and day now and I want to know what is happening as it happens. I also want to know what more I can do to make her last days easier for her, or if there is anything that can be done. It is so hard watching someone that use weigh over 230lbs, lose down to under 8olbs and she use to be so full of energy and life and now she just lays there. So if anybody knows what signs to look for and of anything that might make her more comfortable, I would really appreciate your help.. Thanks

Smoker's cough that persists or becomes intense. Persistent chest, shoulder, or back pain unrelated to pain from coughing. Increase in volume of sputum. Wheezing. Nonsmoker's cough that persists for more than 2 weeks. Change in color of sputum. Blood in sputum. Repeated episodes of pneumonia or bronchitis. Other symptoms that can be related to late-stage lung cancer can include: Fatigue. Loss of appetite. Headache, bone pain, aching joints. Bone fractures not related to accidental injury. Neurologic symptoms, such as unsteady gait and/or episodic memory loss. Neck and facial swelling. Unexplained weight loss.

Is a morphine patch being applied? If so, see that it's changed periodically as recommended by the doctor. If you're asking what signs to look for to know that the end is near, look for a significantly slowed heart rate and very slow and shallow breathing. At the end, listen for a long and noticably louder exhale. That'll be her final breath when she gives up her spirit.

You need to smoke regularly really.

it depends on your LUCK... someone in our place got a lung cancer.. i think he said he only light up... uhmmm?? ... 7 packs of marlboro red in his whole life... i dunno.. i'm a smoker before.. but now.. i've stopped, because of what he said *lol*, i think i've light up about 10 packs in my whole career life.. im 19 years old and i ididn't get any lung problem's. lucky me :D if i were you.. ill rather stop than continue... >>vote me if ive helped you<<
4 :
any time you start smoking you have increased your chances of two things: 1. of continuing to smoke, and 2. of increasing your risks for heart/lung disease. generally young teens are smoking b/c they think it looks cool; or are trying to impress their friends; or someone else has talked them into it. i assure you smoking is bad for your health and it has been proven over and over and over. now there are some people who can smoke most of their lives and not have experienced lung cancer but they are the odd survivors not the typical smokers who contract disease. another very serious issue with young people is b/c you're young you don't feel the effects of smoking on your lungs and heart. you're likely to not have a problem for 20 or 30 years when you'll be going to a doctor saying " I feel so tired all the time". by then its to late your lungs and heart have been subjected to the smoke and chemicals for so long that there is no treatment to reverse the lung/heart problems. you may never get lung cancer but you will suffer irreversible lung tissue destruction, and cardiac decompensation (CHF), and likely high blood pressure. go visit a VA hospital and look at some of those old geezers and ask them what they think of you smoking. i 've treated VA residents with tracheotomies (surgical hole in their throat to breath) who still smoke through the hole. nicotine is the most addictive chemical on the planet, right up there with cocaine, heroin, and morphine. you make up your own mind.

When should a doctor check for lung cancer

When should a doctor check for lung cancer?
My Dad was just diagnosted with lung cancer. It is stage 4 or 5. That's very bad. He'd had cancers on his face removed, and many colonoscopies checking for pollups which they had to remove at least one. Shouldn't they have checked elsewhere and found this before now?

Depends...did you father ever ask to be screened for lung cancer? Colonoscopies are normal routine check men over 50 MUST go to. Cancer on his face was visible to the Dr.
2 :
Wasn`t he showing any symptoms, like cough, blood in the sputum? That`s suprising the doctors did not even consider the lungs before? You should question the doctors involved regarding this matter.
3 :
There are over 200 different types of cancer and just as many subtypes . . and there is no way to tell in the early stages if you have any of them. This is the reason cancer is so deadly . .because it is deceptive and by the time you have symptoms the cancer is already advanced. So, no, a doctor would not routinely screen for lung cancer unless he had reasons to suspect it was there. Cancer on the face is totally different than what is found in the lung . . and a colonoscopy checks only for nodules or tumor in the colon. The body is a huge place . . and looking for cancer is like searching for a needle in a haystack . . .you have to know where to look or you can miss it. Also . . cancer can be aggressive and grow very rapidly. Thus it is possible that your fathers lung cancer was too tiny to see when he was last at his doctors . . . and the months in between the doctor visits the cancer started to grow. Cancer starts out microscopic and begins to grow . . sometimes it takes months, sometimes weeks . . and, unfortunately with aggressive cancer . . it might only be days. The definition of cancer means the 'uncontrolled' growth of cells. I'm sorry about your Dad . .but cancer is deceptive . .it is no ones fault.

Panda is absolutely correct. Studies have been done testing the theory that routine screening of people over 45 (especially smokers) for lung cancer might help us find lung cancers earlier when they could be more effectively treated. These have been large studies at the Mayo Clinic and other excellent medical centers. It has not been clearly demonstrated that finding a lung cancer earlier in an asymptomatic stage makes any significant difference in the long term outcome. The reason is as Panda says - by the time a lung cancer is large enough to be seen on screening chest x-rays, it is already advanced in most cases. A billion cancer cells is about the size of a marble on a chest x-ray - and that's about as early as they might be detected. Lung cancers tend to spread microscopically through the blood stream very early - often before they are large enough to show up on tests. Lung cancer is not the same as colon cancer or breast cancer where early detection and screening make a great deal of difference. Cancers are MANY different diseases as Panda says.

i'm really sorry to hear that. I found a web link for you which may help. http://www.cancerlinksusa.com/financial_aid.htm hope this helps :)
2 :
You need to go to assistance office and apply for it and also go to Social Security office and apply for SSI or SSD, either way he qualifies for state Medicaid card
3 :
If your dad does not have an estate from which you can draw funds and he agrees to pay you, in the USA, I doubt if there is any agency that will give you financial assistance. However, Cancer.org or check into other Cancer Societies, they might assist you in moving and finding help for your dad, while you relocate and find a job. He should also be eligible for hospice care http://www.cancer.org/docroot/home/index.asp

Can you get lung cancer from fiberglass insulation

Can you get lung cancer from fiberglass insulation?
You can get lung cancer from asbestos because it puts fiber in the lungs and the body doesn't know how to expel it. Wouldn't the same logic be used for fiberglass insulation. When you install fiberglass into walls these tiny fibers break off and get into the air. If you breath in these fibers then the body can't expel them. Glass does not break down and then it remains in your lungs forever.

Not sure about lung cancer but it can do very serious damage to them so you should always have a face mask on they are very cheap and life savers.
2 :
we are born with this disease ready for something to awaken him to always get on well with the body always go to the doctor to do tests always poque hardly ever tells you when it arrives, but when it arrived if you have any questions ask your doctor and take your questions to him and never go in thinking about forever with astral god poque high thinking is the only one who can take anything that upset you a hug .. gustavo from Brazil
3 :
No. You can have other problems, but the shape of the microscopic particles of asbestos causes the body to capture and encapsulate them and then be constantly irritated - that is what makes it dangerous. Glass fiber is smooth and bigger and the body can deal with it. There is a lung disease associated with glass called silicosis but you get that from sanding glass (or fiberglass) and breathing the dust (and other dust sources as well) That is not to say is not irritating as all get out and WHILE INSTALLING IT, people need protection, but it doesn't come flying out of the walls. For that matter, undisturbed and painted over asbestos is okay - but it tends to age and disintegrate and cleaning up old asbestos sources in the wrong way can contaminate a whole building

Is there any correlation between breast cancer and lung cancer

Is there any correlation between breast cancer and lung cancer?
I am a 52 year ol;d female. Ten years ago I was diagnosed with lobular carcinoma of the breast (in-situ) and had bilateral mastectomies. My mother died of the same type of breast cancer when she was 47. I now have squamous cell lung cancer on the same side as the breast. Could there be a correlation?
Cancer - 2 Answers

1 :
sometimes -for your specific question, consult your oncologist.
2 :
No, they are two different types of cancer. Lobular carcinoma in-situ (LCIS) is really more of an early warning indicator that the patient will develop an invasive cancer in either breast, not just the one it was found in. This is why a bilateral mastectomy was recommended to you. LCIS is non-invasive and therefore incapable of spreading. Many people develop either lung or breast cancer and never develop the other. Good luck with your treatment. I hope all goes well for you.
