Honestly I only know of one sign of lung cancer. When you breath, you'll hear a whistling in your lungs. That sound is the air forcing itself around the cancer.
2 :
1.sputum exam (bloody)or hemoptysis 2.chest x ray (patch or abscess)or CTscan of the chaest 3.bronchial lavage show mlignant cells in the smear 4.biopsy of the lesion or pleural fluid aspiration
3 :
a blood test will show a abnormality. A chest x-ray will show a shadow (could be cancer) A biopsy will tell for sure.
4 :
Lots of coughing. We thought my mom had bronchitis, even though she'd been telling us that she couldn't breathe for months. She had an x-ray, and it was visible. They tried to biopsy the mass in her lung, but her trachea was nearly swollen shut. They biopsied lots of different sites, and it was determined that she had stage 4 lung cancer and that it had spread everywhere. The chemotherapy weakened her substantially, and she died a few weeks later. I don't blame her for smoking. I saw her try over and over to quit. The beast just overwhelmed her. TX Mom

Nagging cough or hoarseness: A cough that does not go away may be a sign of lung cancer. Hoarseness can be a sign of cancer of the larynx (voice box) or thyroid.
6 :
the only sure way of detecting cancer of the lung is a biopsy. x-rays showed spots on my lungs. but after the biopsy they ruled cancer cells out. they are saying that i have scare tissue. im checked every 2 months with ct scans with contrast.

That'd be impossible to know without going to the doctor. Probably not, though. If you quit now, you are young enough for your body to fully recover.
2 :
you will not close the possibility of lung cancer, because you have started smoking since seven years ago. You better stop smoking from now and start living healthy, maintaining a diet, and exercise regularly. Do not waste your life with health damage. Good Luck
3 :
Only one of every 13 smokers develops lung cancer. That being said, the risk is real. At seven years, you probably aren't at risk yet but the damage is cumulative and after 10 pack years (1 pack a day for 10 years, 2 packs a day for five years, etc.), the lifetime risk starts to climb. It usually requires several attempts to quit, and for that reason if no other, you are at risk.

Even if cancer looks dormant ,its really not.Cancer gos though many mutation changes before its at a stage to spread.Sometimes it depends on what you eat.Certain chemicals from spices and herbs slow down the progress of the cancer mutation. When cancer reachs its final malingant stage it could spread within weeks. The parts that spread are also milingant too.Even if you destroy the primary cancer area during malingnacy there is a 65% that it has already spread to a secondary or third area of the body.

That really all depends on when a person decided to get checked. Many times the only symptoms are fatigue or shoulder pain, or shortness of breath.. or all of the above three. Most of these symptoms are put down to over work, stress and perhaps an injury so are left untreated. In my case, I thought it was overwork and was just real tired, I developed what I thought was a bronchial attack so went for a routine xray.. the xray looked suspicious, a CT scan was set up.. within a month of tests I was diagnosed with stage iv inoperable, terminal cancer. I know one lady who fell down, hurt her shoulder so went to have it xrayed, her stage four cancer was found. She had no other symptoms... so it really depends on the person. All I can really say is you have to know your body and when something doesn't feel right.... go and have a check up. Its just too difficult to put a time frame of when symptoms will appear.

When lung cancer starts exhibiting symptoms, it is in an advanced stage (III or IV). Early stage (I and II) are often found by accident during an X-ray performed for other reasons, as early stage does not exhibit any symptoms. The length of time for grow depends on the cancer type. Squamous cell is a slow growing cancer, whereas small cell is a fast growing.
