my lovely girlfriend was diagnosed with lung cancer(a spot the size of a pin head). what are her chances of beating it and what should she do to help the process along? any suggestions will be a blessing

At such an early stage, her chances for recovery are good if its non small cell. If the cancer hasn't spread then surgery would be a very good option. After successful surgery, chemo should be considered in case some cancer cells are in the blood stream.

If they just caught it (which that's what it sounds like), chances are good. At the same time, they will be keeping an eye (monitoring) on her for the rest of her life.
